Located on Avenida da Boavista, the Dr. António Cupertino de Miranda Foundation houses the Paper and Coin Museum of Oporto. This Museum was inaugurated in 1996, grouping several collections.
It currently has two permanent exhibitions: the paper money exhibition which presents the history of paper money; and also the exhibition "Money and Transport" with a collection of more than 6,000 miniatures of cars, boats and trains.
The exhibitions show the economic, social and cultural evolution of Portugal and the museum also has an educational service that has as its priority. This is accompanied by professionals qualified to intervene socially and in all audiences.
