Located in Matosinhos, on the north bank of the Douro estuary, Praia de Matosinhos is popular among surfers, bodyboarders and kite surfers for its heavy swell and cold waters. With an urban character and wide sandy beach, it offers several activities, both in and out of the water, especially for sportspeople. If you are not so active, enjoy strolls along the seaside promenade.
Outstanding within the beaches of Costa Verde, it is a place with easy access using transport, being 15 minutes from the centre of Porto. Even so, it has a car park, several recreational sports infrastructures and beach support services. Nearby, restaurants specializing in fish and seafood abound.
You can also visit “Castelo do Queijo”, south of Praia de Matosinhos.
